ScummVM DATs

[they-live]

first, thank you for all the work in putting together and verifying all of these bios files. tremendous work. it's awesome and much appreciated.

this is a suggestion mostly unrelated to this project, but since you have made tools to scan and verify the correct files needed for each emu from their source code, maybe it can apply to scummvm's supported games+files as well?

you see, the scummvm team has specifically made it not so easy to know what exact files it requires for games, or not require, or how many variations of a file it can use or their hashes, etc.

they don't want people building giant complete game collections like people do for mame. so every scummvm collection floating around on the internet is incomplete, incorrect, outdated, etc. none of them are "clean."

maybe you can generate some mame-like dat files and put an end to this madness? just the dats, no copyrighted files of course.

just a thought.
