I would like a button on the compass screen that will record my compass heading and my current gps location. On the map screen that button press will draw a straight line along the recorded heading starting at the recorded GPS location.
The button could be labeled "Triangulate" or something similar, as this feature would be used for just that: triangulation.
Perhaps an advanced feature for this could be a system that displays a close address or the GPS coordinates of where 2 lines meet.
A system of this type would be great for trying to identify and/or locate distant landmarks while hiking, islands while boating, or even smoke from a distant fire. Even just a single line generated in this way would be helpful for navigating in a general direction.
Anyway, that is all from me. This is a fantastic app, great work so far!
