Move existing variants to another template keeping their database identifier, so their stock, valuation, sales, purchase and accounting history is not rewritten. Source and target templates may already have variants generated by several attributes: the wizard adds the needed values or attributes to the target, gives the existing target variants a value for new attributes, excludes (or creates) the combinations that become possible but no variant uses, cleans the configuration of partially emptied sources, narrows template-level records such as vendor prices and pricelist rules to the moved variants, keeps sales prices through the extra price of the added values, and archives or merges the sources left without variants. The resulting configuration is validated by running the core variant synchronization in a rolled back savepoint before committing.
