Missing degree symbol from the character set

Since the SenseHat reads temperature and angles, seems odd that we can't display the degree symbol...
Also targeting an international audience, it would be nice if it supported a wider range of alphabet characters - accents for example...  I'm retrieving weather conditions from an online  API and all the accents get replaced by question marks  :-(
