Claude Code 2.1.288 and 2.1.289 add one env var cc-settings tracks and change two documented behaviors. Codex stays at 0.160.0. Adopted: - CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_STRUCTURED_OUTPUTS tracked in the manifest and settings reference Docs: - background command time limit applies only in unattended sessions - InstructionsLoaded from subagent file access carries agent_id, agent_type and effort

What this does
Brings cc-settings up to Claude Code 2.1.289. Codex has no new release. Teams behind a gateway that rejects structured outputs get a documented switch, and the docs stop claiming every background command dies at 30 minutes, which since 2.1.288 is only true in unattended sessions.
