I found and fixed a concrete post-download failure path in #262 (merged to main): download/extraction/initialization errors are now contained, the background worker always emits completion, its Qt thread is cleaned up, and the model UI returns to an idle state.

Validation: 135 unit tests passed (13 model-download skips), all 9 Linux/macOS/Windows CI jobs passed, and a manual threaded corrupt-archive reproduction confirmed cleanup and a visible error instead of an escaped worker exception.

I am keeping this issue open because the original report does not identify the AnyLabeling version or selected model, so a native ONNX Runtime crash cannot be ruled out. Please retry the next release and, if it still exits, provide the model name, CPU/GPU build, and console/crash log.
